Delectable halibut from Homer that has been in high demand from our customers and is making a fresh appearance as part of our community supported fishery. We could not be more excited to offer this beautiful fish, especially knowing that it was caught by two long-time Homer resident fishermen and fisheries advocates, Malcolm Milne and Matt Alward!

Both fishermen are actively involved in various fisheries and fisheries organizations throughout the state. They are excellent representatives of the industry and were happy to partner up with Catch of the Season to make this offering possible.

"My primary reason for partnering with them on this catch is to both ensure my catch goes to people who support Alaskan fishermen and our communities, and to also support AMCC and all their efforts."

-Matt Alward, F/V Challenger

We can ensure you that Malcolm and Matt handled each fish with the utmost care and quality; from landing to the offloading and processing. Malcolm’s F/V Captain Cook has even been VOLUNTARILY outfitted with the latest remote electronic monitoring system to assist fishery management with more accuracy than ever before.

The Gulf of Alaska (Area 3A) Pacific halibut fishery is managed by the International Pacific Halibut Commission. All fish are caught by the longline fishing method and dressed (gutted and iced) prior to returning to port. These beautiful fish were caught not too far off the coast of the Kenai peninsula and landed in the coastal community of Homer for further value added processing and transport. Way to go guys!
